TM Member interview Jarno Peet.
I’m Jarno Peet and i’m 19 years old. I live in Zaandam West and I mostly play at the famous Viaduct at Zaandam. You can check out some of my video’s at www.youtube.com/Peetje075
When did you first started to Freestyle
I started to play StreetMatch about a year ago. I’ve always played football on a grass field in my neighbourhood. But one day Edward van Gils came to our grass field and told us about the Viaduct. That summer the Monta StreetLegends also came to the Viaduct to play StreetMatch. I was also there and I the tricks I saw them do, it was crazy. From that moment I started to learn the basic moves. The StreetMatch virus got me and I’m practising ever since.
Are you a Freestyle or a StreetMatch (streetmatch is streetsoccer) player, or maybe both?
StreetMatch, I love to drive my opponent crazy with my ground moves. I think Freestyle is like the circus, its not really football. Its something everybody can learn, as long as you practise long enough. And of course I can do some Freestyle moves, but I don’t like it just as much as StreetMatch moves.
What is your best trick?
I have invented an AKKA, I don’t know if its my best move, but I do think its my coolest move. I start with the famous “Boukhari drag akka” and finish it off with the jump move from Dave from Rotterdam. I don’t know if this move all ready exists, I do know I invented it myself and I didn’t copy it.
What is the Dutch Freestyle and StreetMatch culture all about?
The Dutch StreetMatch culture is the best in the world, without a doubt. When I show my skills in a foreign country they admit that I have a dope style. The Monta StreetLegends also proved to be the best StreetMatch players in the world, with their world tour.
Who is the best Freestyle player allround?
I think Edward van Gils is the best StreetMatch player around. He has the sickest style of them all. With Freestyle I like Touzani the most. Because not only can he Freestyle, he also knows how to play StreetMatch.
What do you think about TrickMasters.com?
I love the site, because everybody can show off their skills. But I’d rather stick to playing StreetMatch games instead of filming my moves in the back of my yard.
Shoutout
Shoutout to Cliff, Rowdy, Steven and Xander. Zaandam Viaduct represent!
Palle goes MONTA
I don’t have to explain who Palle is, he’s one of the best Freestyle players of the world. He’s also an official MONTA Streetlegend. Last week MONTA organized a photo shoot for their new website. All of the MONTA Streetlegends were there, to show off their skills in front of the camera. Palle was also in the building. I spoke with Palle at the shoot and asked him, if he had some new footage from himself. And this is what he showed me, check out his latest clip.
