Rocky is the first female member of the Monta streetlegends Crew. She’s known in the Netherlands for her StreetMatch skills and many guys are afraid to battle this chick. Before you’ll know it, she embarrasses you in front of your friends. Don’t act tuff on her, because you’ll might get a PANNA.

Where did you first started to play StreetMatch?
I first started to play Streetsoccer when I was really young. I always played on the streets with my brother, he took me everywhere. I was the only girl who played with the boys, I never played with dolls or do girly things. The only thing I wanted to do, was kick the ball.

Did you play StreetMatch with other boys, who made it to the top?
Yes I did, I played with Arjan Robben in my holidays on a camping in Spain. I also played with Jeffrey Hogervorst who plays for the talents team from FC Barcelona, Dwight Tiendalli from Feyenoord, Serginho Green from Feyenoord and of course with Edgar Davids.

What did you learn on the streets?
Don’t let them mess with you, show them what you got. If you don’t show it, someone else will do it. You’ve got to have to will to win and the will to show yourself of. Don’t be shy!

What is your best StreetMatch trick?
I got a few nice StreetMatch tricks, but the one which I use a lot in official futsal games, is the “Knee Akka” invented by Calvin Blankendaal. Whenever I do this trick and I embarrass my opponent, the audience goes crazy, I love that.

Is there a difference in StreetMatch now a days compare to StreetSoccer back in the day?
Nowadays everybody plays StreetMatch, back in the day there was a selected group of boys who played with this unique style. The game became faster and more popular, it evaluated.

Can you tell me something about the Dutch StreetSoccer culture?
It’s the best in the world. And we showed that to the world in the first Monta Streetlegends tour. Everything started in Holland and we got the best StreetMatch players. I’m sure about that.

Who is the best StreetMatch player at the moment?
Every StreetMatch player from the Monta Streetlegends Crew are the best players I know.

Girls can play ball to!

In the previous edition Jack showed you a new trick, that’s what he thought. I received several e-mails with comments and proof. The trick from Jack has already been done by Tobbe and other Freestyle players. But we have a new trick. We all know the Akka 3000 by Issy Hitman, but now there is a remix, the Tamakka. Check it out and let me know, if this trick is new?

If you have a brand new trick, tape it and send your video to: rocky@trickmasters.com

Best of Jermaine

Not everybody will agree this with me, but I think Jermaine Vanenburg from the Monta Streetlegends, is the best StreetMatch player in the world. He’s the only StreetMatch player I know, who earns his income by playing Street soccer. He’s a StreetMatch icon and every StreetMatch player heard about him. If you type in his name on youtub.com, you’ll find numerous of PANNA clips from this master. In the clip below you’ll see several of Jermaine’s best moves and classic scenes. Check him out.

TM Member interview David

Hello, my name is David Nomden. I’m 16 years old and I was born in Haarlem, but I live in Hoofddorp (near Schiphol Airport). I started to Freestyle about four years ago and now I cant stop doing it.

When did you first started to Freestyle?
I started with Freestyle when I was 12 years old. I saw some Freestyle movies on the internet. The guys did amazing things with the ball. I was impressed and I also wanted to learn the tricks.

Are you a Freestyle or a StreetMatch player, or maybe both?
I started playing football on the streets when I was five years old. I played football all day long, giving PANNA’s was the thing to do. So I’m definitely a StreetMatch player.

What is your best trick?
It’s an ground move. You stand with your back to your opponent with your foot on the ball you make sure he cant see the ball. You move your feet to let your opponent think you still have the ball under your feet, but you’ve already passed the ball away.

What is the Dutch Freestyle and StreetMatch culture all about?
The Dutch Freeystle an StreetMatch are both very popular. But there are still to many kids who play more with the computer or watch tv. They should go outside and play ball.

Who is the best Freestyle and StreetMatch player allround?
Best Freestyle player is Soufiane Touzani and Sean. The best StreetMatch player is Djuric Ascension his style is unique.

What do you think about TrickMasters.com?
It’s an great oppurtunitie to show your skills. And maybe if a five year old next Touzani watches the site he will get his inspiration to start his football career from the site.

Shoutout:
Practice and enjoy practicing.

Last week I had to perform at a StreetMatch demonstration for Monta. Normally I perform with one of the boys from Monta. But this time I did the demonstration with a good friend of mine, Bouchra. She’s one of the best female StreetMatch players from Holland. We used to practise StreetMatch and Freestyle together, when we were younger, now she’s becoming one of the Emperors from Monta. Are you curious yet? Check her out in the clip below.
